Green Industry Update, June 9

A Green Industry Update is scheduled for Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Chattahoochee Tech. in Marietta, GA.

Re-certification Credits: Category 24 = 2 hours; ISA = 2 hours; Private = 1 hour

The program begins at 9:00 a.m. and features Dr. Alfredo Martinez speaking about Turfgrass Disease Management, Ben Copeland speaking about the New Bermudagrass 'TifTuf', and Brian Watters speaking about Irrigation Troubleshooting and Management.

The location is Room F-2147 (in building F) at Chattahoochee Technical College

North Georgia Gardening Symposium

Pesticide Applicator Recertification Training

UGA's Green Team will be in Bartow County in November to offer an educational session that qualifies for recertification credits for Category 24 pesticide applicator licenses.

A Pond Management Workshop sponsored by UGA Extension- Cherokee County ANR Agent Josh Fuder and featuring UGA Aquaculturist Dr. Gary Burtle is scheduled:

Pesticide Applicator Recertification Training

Commercial pesticide applicator credits can be earned by attending a training scheduled to take place on August 21, in Cartersville, GA.

Registration fee is $55 until Thu., August 13, & $65 afterwards.

Pond Management Workshop in Whitfield County

Pond Management Workshop offered through Whitfield County Extension will explain pond biology and proper management techniques.

Vegetable Growers Workshop

This program about growing food for yourself or for profit, coordinated by Bob Westerfield, Extension Horticulture Specialist, is for both beginning and experienced growers.

Participants will learn how to select varieties, grow their own transplants, understand their soil, plant and maintain vegetable crops, troubleshoot vegetable problems, and select and maintain equipment, and they will gain insights into how to successfully market and sell a crop.
